Bill P. Key passed away Dec. 11. He was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Catherine Taylor Key; and son, Timothy Key . He is survived by son, Paul and wife Vella; son, Charles and wife Janice; granddaughters, Kyan Hayden, Vanessa Schwarz, Amy Jinkins and Chelsea Key ; grandsons, Josh Key and Jacob Key ; and great-grandchildren, Stevie Hayden, Lane Jinkins, Ansley Jinkins, Kaden Jinkins, and Maddox Schwarz.
Bill served in the Navy during WWII and took part in the occupation of Japan. Upon returning home, he pursued a career in television engineering, working for RCA and later at OETA as chief engineer. A memorial service will be held at Northwest Church of Christ, 4301 N.W. 23rd St., OKC, Monday, December 17 at 11 a.m. Bill was adopted, and his birth name was Robert Gene Davis. His parents, Margaret Idella Arnold and Gus Key, received him from University Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was officially adopted at age 11 by Margaret Key and William Sanford Farrow, all of Ardmore and Ardmore areas, Oklahoma. His birth mother was Eva Juanita Davis, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, with ties to Missouri. Through DNA testing, paternal kinship to Manley, Strange and Mitchell families has been established.
