  1. 1.  George Hiram Taylor, Sr. was born 13 Dec 1769, Rowan, North Carolina (son of William Taylor and Elizabeth Anderson); died 27 Jan 1850, Washington, Rutherford, Tennessee.

    Notes:

William and Elizabeth are not parents...They had a George b. 1762 and m. to different person.

CAN”T MAKE CONNECTION HERE TO FATHER’s WILL.

Geor. Sr’s Will states wife and children; everything here going forward is correct.
So probably a different Geo. Taylor who married a Unity Wyatt.

Marriages to the two women are off...took place within 2 years of each other. Only conclusion is that they divorced; otherwise, these are two different George Taylors.

    Notes:

Aunt Martha and cousin Bob Smith (Aunt Myrl’s grandson-Donna Fae) said that the Taylor’s used to say we were related to the President Taylor, somehow, so this HAS to be right...BUT

CAN”T MAKE CONNECTION HERE TO SON GEORGE M.
Other distant relative thinks we come from WIlliam’s brother, Charles.

First established in 1686 by Hancock Lee, the two-story home was built in 1752-62 by Kendall Lee, grandson of the founder. Through intermarriage of the Lees who lived here and the Balls living at Bewdley, Ditchley became a Ball home in 1789 when it was conveyed to James Ball III of Bewdley, a first cousin. Around 1930, Mrs. Alfred I. duPont, nee Jessie Dew Ball, a descendant of William Ball, bought Ditchley, restoring it to its original beauty. Bobby Ball, quite a colorful character and fondly remembered, looked after the house until his death in 2001. A caretaker remains on the property, but the future of the house seems fragile. With its devotion to symmetry, this dwelling conveys an understated, elegant impression. The grounds have large old boxwoods, towering sycamores, and a huge osage orange. Being surrounded by level land and sparkling waters, it has a warm glow throughout the day.
