  1. 1.  Captain John Morgan, Sr. was born 1729, King George County, VA (son of Squire Charles Morgan and Anne Duncan); died 8 Feb 1788, Sumner County, TN.

    Notes:

    Recieved 640 acres in Davidson, TN for his Rev. War service.

    John — Martha Ann Settle. Martha (daughter of Isaac Settle and Charity Browne) was born 1732; died 1818. [Group Sheet]

    1. Captain John Morgan, Jr. was born 1753; died 1832.

  1. 2.  Squire Charles Morgan was born 1700.

    Notes:

    Moved to Wilkes County, NC along with his brother Benjamin who married Martha’s sister Phebe Settle. In 1783 John & Martha sold thier plantation and moved along with Mj. William Hall and settled in Sumner County, TN. John Morgan and his sons built Morgan’s Station along Bledsoe Creek in 1785. In the winter of 1788 John Morgan was killed by Indians.
